7th TORINO FLASH FESTIVAL , ANIMATION and FLASHGAMES

La Asociación Cultural AZIMUT nos informa que ya empezó las inscripciones para el 7th TORINO FLASH FESTIVAL dedicado a la ANIMATION y los FLASHGAMES.
La inscripción es gratuita y los participantes tienen la oportuinidad de obtener un premio de 4 mil Euros, hay dos categorias Animación (basada en flash)y Juegos también realizados en Flash. El 7th Festival de Torino Flash organizado por la Associazione Culturale Azimut con el apoyo de la Region de Piemonte , la ciudad de Torino, Circoscrizione 1, la Fundación CRT y en colaboración con el Premio Grinzane Cavour, Topix, Wi–Pie, Tex97, Dams y el Museo del Cinema.
Sections of the Competition
The seventh edition of the Torino Flash Festival is divided into two sections:

A) Animation

• Animation - Free Topic
dedicated to all free topic flash animations. Each participant can present more than one video, to be submitted via e-mail or on CD-ROM, exclusively in SWF format.

• Animation – Digital Terrestrial TV
This section is dedicated to all flash animations dealing with the development of digital terrestrial technology and the service improvements that such technology could bring about in everyday life. The Piemonte Region reserves the right to use the best animations for institutional and promotional purposes. Furthermore, to facilitate the creation of a more complete product, the images that will be used in the promotional campaign for digital terrestrial TV in the region will be published on the website www.regione.piemonte.it in around mid-March, 2008.

B) Flash Games
Interactivity and play are essential characteristics of digital media, in communication as much as in art. In particular, the videogame is a new form of expression, which allows experimentation with language, models of narration, design, technologies, viral marketing and in which it is possible to develop new forms of creativity. In this context, the Flash Games sections was created, in collaboration with the Development Program of the TOP-IX Consortium. The Management of the Festival has dedicated two categories to the Flash Games Section:

• FreeGames - dedicated to all flash games based on free topics.

• AdsGames – dedicated to flash games created for the purposes of advertising and creating commercials for real and imaginary products.

Registration
Registration is free for both sections of the competition. All works received by 1 May, 2008 will be entered into the competition; the selected authors will be notified by 15 May, 2008.

Registration Procedure for the ANIMATION Section
It is possible to enter more than one game; to register, simply fill in all parts of the Registration Form, available from the website www.flashfestival.it, attaching the work in SWF format. Alternatively, you can send the work and all the relevant details (name of the author and telephone number, title of the work, year of creation, frame rate, brief synopsis) via e-mail to flash@flashfestival.it or by post to Associazione Culturale Azimut Piazza Emanuele Filiberto 9b, 10122 TORINO, Italy.

Registration Procedure for the FLASH GAMES Section
It is possible to enter more than one game; to register, simply fill in all parts of the Registration Form, available from the website www.flashfestival.it, attaching the game in SWF format or providing a link to where it can be found. Alternatively, you can send the game, or games, on a DVD, attaching the form, to Associazione Culturale Azimut Piazza Emanuele Filiberto 9b, 10122 TORINO Italy.The material submitted will not be returned, and will become part of the Festival’s archive for all authorised forms of use. However, copyright and intellectual property rights will remain the exclusive property of the authors.

Date of Competition
The 7th Torino Flash Festival will take place in Torino in June 2008, and will encompass the presentation of the Flash Games section at the Spazio Azimut in Piazza Palazzo di Città 8, Torino, with gaming stations for the participants and the public, and the free public screening of the Animation Section in the Festival locations (Cinemas, Quadrilatero Romano).

Prizes
A panel consisting of journalists, experts and artists chosen by the Management of the Torino Flash Festival, will divide the prize money of 4,000 euros as follows: €2,000 for First Place in the Animation Section, €1,000 for First Place in the Digital Terrestrial Animation Section and €1,000 for First Place in the Flash Games Section. A People’s Prize will also be awarded, based on the preferences of the public, who will be called on to actively participate in the competition.

General Rules
Admission to the Torino Flash Festival implies unconditional acceptance of the regulations. The Management of the Torino Flash Festival may take decisions concerning any matters not covered by the regulations.
