De confirmarse el retiro de la producción de anime de los estudios Ghibli seria una pésima noticia no solo para la animacion japonesa, es mala para quienes amamos y trabajamos animacion con dibujos echos a mano, sino para el Cine y el espectador en general que ama las buena películas.Seria tan sentida como cuando Disney Abdico de hacer animación para trabajar solamente como mercachifles de entretenimiento, cerró sus unidades de animación echa a mano y contrato a una maquina para hacer salchichas blockbuster.

El estudio japonés de animación Ghibli, que realizó la ganadora del Oscar "El viaje de Chihiro", entre otros éxitos, anunció que cesará su producción.
Su cofundador Toshio Suzuki le dijo a la televisión japonesa que la empresa posiblemente encare una reforma; reconoció que en la empresa han hablado de la posibilidad de dejar de producir definitivamente.
Estos cambios llegan luego de que se retirara su principal director, Hayao Miyazaki, quien estuvo a cargo de "El viaje de Chihiro", que en 2002 ganó el Oscar a mejor animación.
Muchos creen que Miyazaki fue quien consiguió acercar la animación japonesa a una audiencia global.
El estudio Ghibli lleva casi 30 años realizando películas animadas, entre las que también se cuentan "Princesa Mononoke" y "Mi vecino Totoro".


Una actualización que permite ahondar la noticia.
"Reestructuración pero con posibles mínimas producciones... o muy esporádicas hasta que pase lo que tenga que pasar."

Hello everyone, I'd like to try and clarify the current issue and give you my personal take on the matter at hand. Studio Ghibli is not "shutting down." However, General Manager Toshio Suzuki claims that it will merely be restructuring or as he likes to call it, "spring cleaning." This means that they will be taking some off time to think about what the future of the studio holds, and how to modernize it for their current talents. The recent retirement of Miyazaki has definitely affected the studio, says Suzuki. And accordingly, they must restructure the way they operate if they want to continue. He also states that "On what to do with Studio Ghibli's future, it is by no means impossible to keep producing [movies] forever. However, we will take a brief pause to consider where to go from here." But (hypothetically) even if they did close up shop, it wouldn't be absolute. The studio would still remain, but would only serve to function as a manager of pre-existing trademarks and properties. This direction of the studio has only been mused upon by Suzuki, nothing more.

Somewhat sadly, this also means that we may not see a new Ghibli film for a while. BUT, you still have their latest film When Marnie Was There to look forward too, and I'm sure that many of you (including myself) still have yet to see Isao Takahata's The Tale of The Tale of The Princess Kaguya as well. Quality over quantity seems to be the driving goal here, and I'm willing to wait for that. Hopefully there is a bright future for the studio

This is a bittersweet time for fans such as myself, but when in doubt all we really need to do is remember all of the wonderful memories Studio Ghibli's films have given us in the past, regardless of their current state. If I may, I'd recommend that you pick your favorite Ghibli movie (if you can even choose just one!), and sit down and watch it. Just let it put you at ease and be enveloped by it's enchanting world and characters. That's what I plan to do. Ghibli films have changed my life for the better, and their effect on me can never be taken away, regardless of their current state. Let's all hope for a bright and successful future for the studio that we're all big fans of.
